Royce’s Big Walk

Penrith Panthers’ favourite son Royce Simmons recently has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Typically of the man known only as ‘Simmo’, the footy legend wants to help enhance the lives of everyone impacted by dementia.

The inaugural Royce’s Big Walk will depart his Central NSW hometown of Gooloogong on Tuesday 17 May.

After a journey of almost 300 kilometres, Royce plans to cross the finish line at BlueBet Stadium in Penrith on Friday 27 May, just in time for kick-off in the Panthers NRL game against North Queensland Cowboys.

He will be joined along the way with several high profile guests – watch this space for announcements as we get closer!

All donations will support innovative Australian dementia research to:

  • Better understand the causes of dementia
  • Develop strategies to reduce dementia risk and slow the progression of the disease
  • Provide accurate and timely diagnoses
  • Improve treatment and care options for people living with dementia
  • Find a cure
